WELCOME TO THE THREE SISTERS GRONINGEN

The Three Sisters complex can be found on the market square in the heart of the city of Groningen. Established in 1973 the Three Sisters complex, aka ‘The Three’, is a unique and possibly the largest multiple pub concept in Europe.

Separate yet interconnected within a row of 4 historic buildings, it comprises of various different bars: The Three Sisters Pub, located adjacent to Hotel de Doelen is not just a cosy and homely pub.

With its jugendstil design interior and a bar which is almost 30 meter long, the Three Sisters Pub is also the ideal meeting place within the heart of the city. Here you can enjoy a quiet drink as well as some good food.

Next to the Pub is the ‘Groote Griet’, a real Beer cafe and the oldest bar within the complex. Formerly known as the ‘brown cafe’, it was well known for serving many varieties of speciality beer. Soccer fans can enjoy a drink whilst watching their teams playing on the large or small screens.
The Hoppe can be found in the next building. Yet another cosy and trendy bar named after the Hoppe café in Amsterdam.
The Three Sisters cafe-restaurant occupies the last building on the row. A beautiful grand cafe with a large reading table in the middle, with our friendly waiting staff ready to take your order of lunch, dinner, pre-drinks or just a cup of coffee with cake.

Behind the Three Sisters Pub and Three Sisters cafe-restaurant you can find two additional bars, the Hoppe Classic, where you can enjoy the most delicious cocktails, and the Ice-bar made entirely out of ice, making it the coolest bar in Groningen!

The staircases that you find in these pubs will lead you to another level of bars, each with its own theme:
The Ski-hut with the log cabin, the Coyote Ugly bar, the Draai bar (rotating bar) with its own house DJ, where you can party until late.
To top it all off you can visit the Cave bars located on two different levels. Each level has its own rotating bar and a glass DJ Booth which rotates between the two levels.

If you are up for more, you can end your night in the party bar the Blauwe Engel, located in the basement of the Three Sisters cafe-restaurant, where the party continues until the early hours of the morning.
